“Originally, what enticed me towards the medium of graphite, aside from the ability to create dramatic hyper realistic drawings, was the ability to create very powerful dark images; when I started the Ruminate collection, I really wanted to lean into this. As a result this art piece, Cripple, came to fruition.

Cripple portrays an image of a person’s back in dim light taken from behind, very thin, gathered on itself. The play of light and shadows further enhances the pronounced bones as well as the folded hands and arms, suggesting a painful state of mind both from a physical and emotional point of view.
